San Francisco SEALS, Pacific Coast League, Ewing Field Inaugral Program, May 16, 1914. This 16-page, yearbook style program features portraits and bigographies of the 1914 San Francisco Seals' players and front office. A beautiful 2-page centerfold features a panorama of the new ball park.
The ballpark took six months to build and was supposed to last the Seals 20 years. The weather was much colder at Ewing Field than at Recreation Park, the Seals former home. As a result the fans stayed away. The Seals abandoned Ewing Field a few months later and returned to Recreation Park. Any artifact from Ewing Field featuring the Seals is rare. Less than a dozen examples of this program are documented in public or private collections.
